JULY 2003
TIP FOR THE MONTH
Hello!
Christine surprised me with a new 2004
Pontiac Vibe for my recent 61st birthday. So I'm letting go of my 1987
Mercedes 300 E that I've been driving for the past 15 years and enjoying the
style and comfort of this neat new automobile. Psychologically, the car is
a symbol for my physical body, the vehicle I use to move through the world.
It's a reflection of one's self image. I've illustrated this concept in
articles on dreams in my last two issues of
Building the Body Newsletter. At my age I'm not
interested in great power and speed, or having to use high octane fuel and need
expensive tune ups all the time. This car gives me the performance I want,
the room I need, and economy of operation. These just happen to be the
same goals I have for my maturing physique. I want to maintain my
health and keep my appearance looking sharp and defined as I move through life.
As such, my car is a concise match for how I look and feel about myself.
I'm not driving a fast fancy sports car, or a big luxury car to compensate for
what physical attributes I do not possess. I don't have to. I've got
a new Vibe.
