MAY 2005
TIP FOR THE MONTH
Hello!
I'd like to tell you about a method I've been using for getting stronger
and growing muscle. I call it the weight star method. I've used this
technique in the past during the spring and summer months to gradually increased
my exercise poundages. This is the time of the year I concentrate on
gaining muscle and this method is perfect for doing so. Here's how:
Before I start my workout I write out the exercises I'm going to perform in
diary and list the weights next to each exercise. My goal is to do more
weight for the same amount of reps as in my last workout -- or more reps with
the same amount of weight. It's best to do three sets of each exercise
and work up in weight on each successive set. Only go a little heavier on
your last set (2.5 to 5 pounds) -- or do one extra rep with the same weight you
used last workout. When you do so you write a star after each
exercise.

I've been using this weight star
method since late March and my poundages keep going up. I think the
Lifewave Nanotechnology Patches have much to do with this strength increase.
My stamina has improved too and I've gained from 178 up to a solid 185.
I'm excited about this progress but don't want to throw caution to the wind and
keep going heavier and heavier. Obviously there's a limit to the weights
I'll use. I'm nowhere near what I've done in the past when I was
competing, but then that was over 20 years ago. Still, these recent
workouts are the best I've had in years and I'm excited about my progress.
There's a full write up about the
Lifewave
patches in the most recent Spring 2005 Building the Body Quarterly.
The next issue, Summer 2005, comes out in July will have a detailed report of
my exact training progress. If you do not already subscribe and want to
check out my quarterly magazine, send us a buck and we'll mail you an
autographed back issue.
On Memorial Day May 30th I will be inducted into the
Muscle Beach Hall of Fame. The event will take place at the Venice Beach
Weight Pavilion early afternoon. I've written a song for the occasion
entitled Muscle Beach which I will perform at the event. Hope to
see you there.
