NOVEMBER 2005
TIP FOR THE MONTH

Hello,

frank zane newsletter november 2005 coverWell, The 2005 Mr. Olympia Contest has come and gone, Coleman winning his 8th consecutive title, tying Lee Haney's record.  Everyone's bellies weren't hanging out as much this year and I was especially impressed with the appearance of Gustavo Badell who won the challenge round over Coleman.  Christine and I had a great time.  There's a full report on the Olympia weekend in Las Vegas in the Autumn 2005 issue of Building the Body Quarterly which has just come out.  If you don't already subscribe, now's a good time to do so.  The covers are spectacular featuring drawings by Ron Dunn, a great physique artist.

I'm back to regular training, doing two sets of each exercise, a three way split every other day.  Been focusing on going heavy for 8 to 10 reps on the second set of each movement and stretching long between each set.  Taking my time between exercises, sometimes resting up to 4 minutes between sets.  Also have been on a low carb low fat diet (less than 60 grams of each daily) with one gram of protein per pound of bodyweight.  Bodyweight has been hovering at 185 and my waist is getting tighter.   I intend to reach a peak, when it will occur I'm not exactly sure.  I just know it is taking longer at my age of 63.  But I intend to keep at it through the holidays, not go off my diet too often and keep up the regular training.  We'll show the results in Building the Body Quarterly in detail and put a few photos on the website.

frank zane and tyler november 2005 zane experienceChristine and I wore our new T shirts at the Olympia Expo, put some photos of us in them in the Quarterly and as a result have been getting a lot of requests for them. I am wearing one here with Tyler in our gym.   We have them mostly in large and X large in white with black or red logo, $20 each or 2 for $35 plus $4 priority mail postage.

I'm excited about going to Sparta, Wisconsin to see my friend John Dudley, one of the best archers in the world, who is a rep for Mathews Archery.  He's made me a new set of lighter limbs for the beautiful tournament bow he built a few months back which should help me improve my accuracy now that I'm shooting left handed.  We're going to exchange archery and bodybuilding lessons (he's one of the world's strongest archers) and then drive to Minneapolis for a seminar.

The bodybuilding seminar is Sunday afternoon December 11th from 2 to 5 pm and quite likely will be held at the Wayzata High School.  Cost is $20 per  person and the first 40 people to register will receive an autographed copy of my new Zane Body Training Manual free.  Contact Christine Stiff, IFBB professional bodybuilder and NPC Minnesota Chairman at 952-945-9090 to purchase tickets or email her at Bongiovannic@aol.com for more details as they develop.
